EG Foundation, want to encourage children and young people to improve their literacy and numeracy. EG Foundation would like to engage with educational organisations who demonstrate a commitment to professionals, mentors and volunteers across the country to support and inspire young people to achieve their potential.

EG Foundation believes that reading for pleasure is an activity that has real emotional and social benefits, and there is a growing body of evidence which illustrates the importance of reading for pleasure for both educational purposes as well as personal development.

EG Foundation feels reading is an essential skill in every child’s development, which they must learn in order to become successful at school, for reading is required to understand most topics. Reading is one of the important means of gaining different kinds of knowledge and of benefitting from the achievements and experiences of others.
